Who is The Hope Finder?
My name is Marya, and like you, I’m looking for hope. I’m not the source of hope; Jesus is the One who is our hope. But I believe God made me to be an ambassador for life-enhancing help. The hope I have for this blog is that you are helped and encouraged along your life’s journey by what you read here.
I am first and foremost a child of God: chosen, forgiven, redeemed, adopted, loved, accepted, important, cherished, and fearfully and wonderfully made. I am also the wife of a kind, loyal, patient man who loves me and makes me laugh, especially when I take myself too seriously. We began homeschooling our three girls at the beginning of 2016 when we moved to Michigan for my husband’s job. I enjoy cooking, going for walks in beautiful places, reading, sharing helpful information, and deep conversations that have practical, real-life benefits.
I encourage you to read My Story about my journey from sickness, depression, and performance-driven despair to health, freedom, and relaxing in who I am in Christ (okay, so I’m still working on all of that, but I’m growing).
Why the name “The Hope Finder”?
I have kept a journal for many years. Many times I use it to vent frustrations or work through problems. But I find that when I write, I am really searching for an answer, for hope in the midst of challenging circumstances. This blog is intended to be a place where you and I find hope and help to pursue the full and fruitful life that God wants for us.
